Zona de Azar USA – Pennsylvania Achieves Record iGaming Revenue of $159.5 Million in September
USA.- October 19th 2023 www.zonadeazar.com The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Wednesday reported that September revenue from all forms of gambling totaled $476,278,004, a year-over-year increase of 6.2%.
The state also posted revenue of $159.5 million from igaming, a monthly record in Pennsylvania, and a year-over-year increase of 41.5%. The previous record was $148.2 million in March 2023.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville led Pennsylvania with gaming revenue of $77.0 million, a 16.7% increase over September 2022. Valley Forge Casino Resort followed with $66.1 million in gaming revenue, a year-over-year increase of 24.5%. Park Casino in Philadelphia generated $55.8 million, a slight increase of 0.29% over the same period in 2022.
September slot revenue was $199.9 million, a small bump of 0.7% from September 2022. Parx Casino topped all casinos in the state with slot revenue of $31.5 million, a year-over-year decrease of -2.21%. Wind Creek Bethlehem generated slot revenue of $23.7 million, a year-over-year increase of 8.2%, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh generated $21.2 million, a decrease of -5.1%.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National was responsible for more than a third of Pennsylvania’s record igaming revenue, totaling $64.8 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported igaming revenue of $35.4 million, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia generated $29.2 million.
Sports betting revenue in September was $36.6 million from a handle of $726.3 million, a decline of -7.2% year-over-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted sports betting revenue of $19.1 million from a handle of $256.4 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands generated $8.6 million in revenue, with a handle of $230.5 million. Parx Casino’s handle of $22.6 million yielded revenue of $2.1 million, slightly outpacing Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s revenue of $2.0 million from a handle of $31.5 million.
