National
Internet casino gambling set new revenue records in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware in March, while Connecticut tied its previous record. Total igaming revenue for March in the six states where it’s legal added up to $524.7 million, a 21.8% increase over March 2022’s $410.1 million. The online-casino juggernaut continues to make mincemeat of month-over-month totals, let alone year over year.
Michigan
Michigan’s online casinos set another new record in March, generating $171.8 million for the month. That crushed the old record of $153.7 million set in January and was a 23.3% jump over the $131.7 million registered in March 2022. March’s win also ushered Michigan’s internet-casino revenue past $3 billion since igaming launched a little more than two years ago (January 2021) and it was the second month in a row that the igaming win beat that of New Jersey.
BetMGM remains the market leader with $56.2 million, a little less than 15% higher than March 2022’s $46.9 million. Second-place FanDuel (Motor City) earned $34.2 million, a significant 34.2% more year over year.
Altogether, Michigan’s 14 online casino operators paid $44.6 million in state and local taxes and fees.
