Australia.- 26 de Enero de 2024 www.zonadeazar.com In a strategic move, Star Entertainment Group has appointed Janelle Campbell, a former executive at Melco Resorts & Entertainment, as the CEO of The Star Sydney, effective late February.
This announcement comes shortly after the confirmation of the CEO for Star’s Brisbane operations.
Campbell, with her extensive experience, becomes the third and final addition to the property leadership team, joining Jessica Mellor, CEO of The Star Gold Coast, and Daniel Finch, the recently appointed CEO of Brisbane operations. All three executives will report to Group CEO Robbie Cooke.
The Star Entertainment Group has undergone significant restructuring, including changes to its board and senior executive teams, following investigations into its operations in New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland.
Group CEO Robbie Cooke expressed his enthusiasm about Campbell joining the team, emphasizing her strong leadership skills and extensive background in overseeing large-scale operations. Campbell, who previously managed teams of up to 1,200, played a key role in developing and implementing strategic business plans during her tenure at Melco Resorts & Entertainment.
Campbell’s past roles include a decade as Director of Finance and Financial Controller at Conrad Treasury in Brisbane, Executive Director of Finance for Conrad Jupiters and Treasury Casinos Queensland, and Senior Vice President Finance for Melco Resorts & Entertainment in Macau from 2008 to 2018. She has also worked with a leading hotel company in Australia.
Expressing her excitement about the new role, Campbell highlighted her understanding of the strategic priorities, including the focus on remediation actions for the return to suitability and the removal of the existing license suspension. She emphasized the importance of building trust and confidence among regulators, guests, team members, stakeholders, and the community while fostering a culture of high-performance excellence.
Campbell is scheduled to commence her new role on February 25, 2024.
