Zona de Azar Colombia – Coljuegos Requests the Blocking of 289 Influencer Profiles for Illegal Betting

Colombia.- December 12th 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Coljuegos has requested the Cybernetic Police Center to block 289 Facebook and Instagram profiles for conducting raffles, bingo games, and promoting illegal betting in Colombia.

Among the reported profiles are well-known influencers such as “Lechoneitor,” “epa_colombia,” “la_liendraa,” “yefersoncossio,” and “motormaniacolombia,” as well as illegal betting sites like 1XBet.

Coljuegos president, Marco Emilio Hincapié, explained that illegal raffles result in annual losses of around COP 70 billion for public health and emphasized the need for companies like Meta to collaborate in the fight against these criminal activities.

In addition to the blocking requests, Coljuegos is conducting 35 administrative sanction processes against influencers and companies for operating unauthorized gambling activities and is investigating 79 additional profiles.

Coljuegos has also issued over 7,600 requests to block websites operating illegal gambling activities. The operation of unauthorized games of chance is a crime under the Colombian Penal Code, with penalties of up to 100 legal monthly minimum wages.
