Chile: SCJ Launches Public Consultations to Strengthen Regulatory Framework
Chile.– January 29, 2026 – www.zonadeazar.com The Superintendence of Gaming Casinos (SCJ) in Chile has opened two public consultation processes to solicit input from citizens, operators and stakeholder organisations in order to update and strengthen the regulatory framework governing casinos, advancing transparency and compliance in the industry.
Overview
The SCJ’s initiative involves two distinct consultations designed to gather observations and proposals that will inform revisions to the regulatory compendium for casino operations in Chile. These consultations are open for public participation in early 2026, enabling broader involvement in regulatory decision-making and helping to ensure that the normative framework is clear, coherent and aligned with best practices.
The move follows the provisions of Law No. 20.500 on Associations and Citizen Participation in Public Management, which encourages the inclusion of civil society and industry stakeholders in shaping public policy.
Details / Context
The first consultation will run until February 3, 2026, and focuses on proposed revisions to the instructions governing compliance requirements for casino operating companies, targeting enhancements in supervisory and enforcement mechanisms.
The second consultation, open until February 9, 2026, seeks feedback on proposed instructions related to modifications to approved projects during the period between licence issuance and the certification of operational commencement.
Both consultations are intended to reinforce the SCJ’s regulatory compendium, creating a unified normative reference that reduces fragmentation and facilitates compliance for industry participants.
Specific topics
In conjunction with these public consultations, the SCJ has launched a digital platform called “Mi SCJ” to centralise and streamline online procedures for users, including application submission, tracking of requests and access to regulatory files, using Clave Única for secure access.
The platform is part of the SCJ’s broader efforts to modernise its administrative processes, improve service delivery and enhance transparency for operators and citizens.
Future outlook
The public consultation processes create a significant opportunity for stakeholders to contribute to the evolution of Chile’s casino regulatory framework, helping to shape stronger compliance standards and clearer rules that support a sustainable and modern gaming industry.
