Finland iGaming Demand Rises 18.7% as Eurojackpot Reaches €120 Million
Finland.- 7 October 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Digital iGaming demand in Finland increased by 18.7% during the week of 28 September to 4 October, coinciding with the Eurojackpot prize climbing to its €120 million maximum.
According to Blask data, Finland’s national index rose from 806,100 to 956,700 points in one week.
Veikkaus Rises 33.7%
Veikkaus recorded an even stronger increase.
The state-owned operator’s index climbed from 330,200 to 441,700 points, representing weekly growth of 33.7%.
Veikkaus accounted for around 46% of total Finnish demand measured by Blask during the period.
Eurojackpot Reaches Maximum
On Friday 2 October, the Eurojackpot prize stood at approximately €106 million.
After no ticket won the top prize, the jackpot increased to its maximum €120 million for the next draw on Tuesday 6 October.
Friday and Saturday Peaks
The highest daily Blask Index reading came on Friday 2 October at 183,500 points.
Saturday followed with 176,700.
Both were the highest daily readings since 19 September, when the index reached 194,200.
What the Blask Index Measures
The Blask Index measures demand volume and interest around iGaming brands using normalised search data.
It does not directly measure:
- GGR.
- Betting turnover.
- Active player numbers.
- Deposits.
In Finland, the index also includes interest in Veikkaus lottery products.
No Proven Causal Link
The increase in demand coincided with the growing Eurojackpot prize, but the data does not establish that the jackpot directly caused the increase.
Blask noted that Finland often records demand peaks on Fridays and Saturdays, meaning part of the movement may reflect normal weekly patterns.
May Comparison
The previous time Eurojackpot reached €120 million was in May 2026.
On that occasion, Blask did not identify a particularly large increase in Finland on the day of the draw.
The index stood at 185,200 on 26 May compared with 178,200 one week earlier.
Potential Finnish Record
If the €120 million jackpot were won by a ticket purchased in Finland, it would become the largest gambling prize in the country’s history.
The existing record is approximately €91.9 million, won in Siilinjärvi in 2019.
Market Context
Finland is also moving towards a multi-licence gambling market.
The new regulated online betting and casino framework is scheduled to launch on 1 July 2027, ending Veikkaus’s monopoly across those verticals.
Digital demand trends are therefore becoming increasingly relevant for operators preparing to enter the market.
Next Steps or Impact
Blask plans to review the index again after the 6 October draw to assess whether the €120 million jackpot produced a further increase in interest.
The results may offer additional insight into how major lottery jackpots influence broader digital gaming demand as Finland prepares for major regulatory change in 2027.
