Brazil: MEsp Reopens Deadline for Selection of Sports Spaces

Brazil – June 12, 2025 — www.zonadeazar.com — The ordinance that provides for the reopening of the deadline for the selection of proposals for the implementation of Community Sports Spaces, to be funded with resources from the Federal General Budget under the New PAC Program – Development and Sustainability, was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday (11).
The new deadline runs from 12:00 a.m. on June 16 to 11:59 p.m. on June 20, 2025, and is aimed only at municipalities that did not submit proposals in the first phase.
“It is important to emphasize that this extension applies only to municipalities that did not submit proposals in the first stage of the selection process. We hope to inaugurate more of these spaces this year, in different regions of the country. These locations will provide family interaction, leisure, and numerous benefits for the communities,” said Paulo Henrique Cordeiro, National Secretary of Amateur Sports, Education, Leisure, and Social Inclusion.
Community Sports Spaces
Community Sports Spaces are public, multi-use facilities located in socially vulnerable areas (as defined by official indices and indicators), designed to host physical — including sports — and leisure activities for all ages.
The infrastructure includes a 30x50m synthetic grass soccer field, a 3×3 sports court, a walking track, and a children’s playground. Each municipality may submit only one proposal.
