The event was organized by the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) under the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, together with the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance.
The platform is designed as a powerful tool to mediate disputes between betting operators and consumers, especially amid the growing regulatory developments in the sports betting and online gaming market in Brazil.
Vitor Hugo do Amaral, Director of the Consumer Protection and Defense Department (DPDC), emphasized:
“Building a responsible betting market requires robust consumer protection tools. The platform plays a strategic role in this mission.”
Carolina Yumi, Deputy Secretary of the SPA, stressed that a regulated betting market must go beyond taxes and compliance—it must also embrace ethical practices and quality customer service.
“Betting companies must offer transparent, efficient, and respectful customer service, aligned with the legal and ethical standards expected by Brazilian consumers,” she said.
The webinar included a detailed explanation of the platform’s functionalities, including performance indicators, response timelines, and how data can be used to enhance service quality.
Alexandre Shiozaki, General Coordinator of the National Consumer Information System, explained:
“This is more than just a complaint channel; it’s a data-driven management and monitoring tool.”
Daniele Cardoso, Head of Responsible Gambling Monitoring at the SPA, highlighted the importance of tracking companies’ performance to ensure alignment with responsible gambling principles and consumer rights.
The National School for Consumer Protection (ENDC) also took part, launching a training project for betting companies to help educate both businesses and users in this emerging sector.
The event concluded with a live Q&A session, reinforcing the Brazilian Government’s commitment to a safe, transparent, and well-regulated betting environment.
