Chris Moneymaker Wins His Own Tournament and Brings 2003 Back to Life

Florida.- May 16 2025 www.zonadeazar.com  Chris Moneymaker just lived a moment straight out of a movie. The 2003 World Champion took down the Main Event of his own circuit, the Moneymaker Tour, held at the Palm Beach Kennel Club in Florida.

The event drew 424 entries, and Moneymaker walked away with the $83,042 top prize.

“Winning a tournament you created and receiving a trophy with your name on it is something very few people get to experience,” he said. “It’s surreal.”

This is his second title on the tour bearing his name. He already claimed a victory a few weeks ago in a Mixed Omaha event at MGM National Harbor — a sign of the form he’s in.

The Moneymaker Tour, launched in 2023, keeps gaining momentum. The next stop is Montreal, featuring 23 scheduled events, followed by Las Vegas and Aruba. Chris Moneymaker proves that his poker story is far from over. He’s still playing, still winning, and — just like in 2003 — still the star of his own movie.
