In “Management of the Modern Gaming Floor: Lessons from the Field,” Capen and his fellow panelists will discuss how regulators, security personnel, IT staff, and casino managers can gain a better sense of the interworking, interconnectivity, and associated risks of today’s systems technologies. The panel will also discuss techniques for better communication across the enterprise to unblur lines leading to unsatisfied internal and external customers.

Michael Capen, GLI Director of Client Services

Michael Capen has been a member of GLI’s Client Service Team, based in GLI’s Las Vegas office, since 2005. His primary responsibility as Director Client Services is directing the Client Services Team that works with all tribal regulatory agencies, state gaming regulatory agencies, lotteries and all casinos in the U.S. and Canada.

Capen brings a diverse background to his position after being a Naval Officer for 21 years, and then, a charitable gaming regulator working for the Virginia Department of Charitable Gaming from 1999 to 2005. While working of the Virginia Department of Charitable Gaming, he rose through the ranks quickly – from inspector to licensing, inspection, and training administrator.
