USA.- December 3rd 2018 www.zonadeazar.com Wednesday’s sitting of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) approved two more interactive gambling applications from international online poker giant PokerStars in partnership with the Mount Airey land casino company, and from Mohegan Sun Pocono.

The PokerStars petition was for a full range of online gambling verticals including poker, whilst Mohegan Sun Pocono applied for online casino and table games operations but withdrew an earlier bid for an online poker licence for reasons that are not yet clear.

Industry observers noted that Mohegan Sun Pocono is not the first to drop a poker application, and follows a similar decision by the developers of the Stadium.

PokerStars parent company The Stars Group (TSG) announced the Pennsylvanian partnership with Mount Airey several months ago, at the same time confirming ambitions to offer sports betting in Pennsylvania through its BetStars brand. Thus far neither TSG nor Mount Airey has made application for sports betting licensing.

The Pennsylvanian approval broadens PokerStars’ US footprint beyond New Jersey, where it has been active for some time in the online environment, and the more recent deal with Eldorado Resorts which gives the online giant potential access to eleven other states.
