Americas to Match Europe in Online Gambling Revenue by 2028, Says Report

USA.- May 13, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com Regulated online gambling revenue across North and Latin America is on track to reach US$56.3 billion by 2028, growing at a compound annual rate of 20.3% from US$22.3 billion in 2023, according to new forecasts from Vixio Regulatory Intelligence. This would bring the Americas’ market on par with—or even surpass—that of Europe, depending on currency trends.
Vixio, a leading provider of regulatory intelligence and forecasting solutions, estimates the regulated online gambling sector in the Americas will reach US$32.5 billion by 2026, more than doubling from US$15.6 billion in 2022. This projected growth significantly outpaces Europe, where the regulated online gambling market is expected to rise from just under €30 billion in 2022 to €37.3 billion in 2026.
“Before 2018, the global regulated online gambling landscape was dominated by Europe,” said James Kilsby, Chief Analyst at Vixio. “But the legalization of sports betting and iGaming in multiple U.S. states, along with major markets like Ontario and Brazil opening up, has shifted momentum to the Americas—especially as European countries impose tighter regulatory restrictions.”
As part of its presence at SBC Summit Americas 2026, Vixio will present its latest data, forecasting tools, and regulatory insights at stand B175. Detailed projections and regional analysis can also be found in its Latin America Online Outlook report, available at vixio.com.
Kilsby will also participate in a featured panel discussion titled “Brazil 2025: A Surge in Licensing and Lessons So Far”, scheduled for Wednesday, May 14 at 11 a.m. in conference room four.
