Basketball Development League 2025 Players Attend Lecture on Sports Integrity

Brazil.- June 25,  2025 www.zonadeazar.com As part of its commitment to ethical conduct in sports, the National Basketball League (LNB) held an educational session on match-fixing and integrity for all athletes and coaches from the 22 teams of the 2025 Basketball Development League (LDB).

The session, led by Tiago Horta Barbosa, Head of Integrity for Latin America at Genius Sports, took place online over two dates: June 17 and 20.

Players were educated on the dangers of illegal betting and match manipulation, with real-life examples such as Jontay Porter (NBA) and Ygor Catatau (Brazil’s Série B), both sanctioned for involvement in betting schemes.

Athletes are also required to sign an official “Integrity Commitment Agreement” as part of the initiative.

The initiative is supported by Genius Sports, Caixa Econômica Federal, Federal Government, CBC, and is endorsed by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation.
