This fresh and dynamic narrative sets the tone for the new campaign for “Create a Bet”, Betfair’s flagship product, which the company is now relaunching in Spain thanks to this advert starring the former star of FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan, among others. This is the first advert that Figo has recorded with Betfair since his appointment as brand ambassador in Spain at the end of June.

“The creative concept of the campaign focuses on the potential of that “Create Bet” button. At first glance, it’s a simple button, but it has enormous potential, allowing each user to shape their own luck. With the presence of our ambassador, Luis Figo, a strong and respected figure in Spanish and world sport, we connect the product with sports fans in a meaningful way. The commercial, filmed in Madrid but with technical direction by Irish agency 53Six, has been available in Spain since 4 August on all Betfair platforms (YouTube, Instagram and X) and can be seen on conventional media such as television and digital media, always at the times and under the conditions set by current regulations.

The narrative is fresh and simple. ‘I wish every moment in life had a create button,’ Figo begins his dialogue as he is accompanied on his way to a football match by two friends who, like him, are going to cheer on the Betfair team. ‘I create my own luck. And with Betfair’s “Create a Bet”, you can too,’ continues the 2000 Ballon d’Or winner.

Every time the Portuguese star presses this button on his mobile phone, he achieves incredible things, such as dressing a fan who had come to the match wearing different colours in Betfair colours, inventing a “magic” lift that takes a fan from the upper stands to the ground in a matter of seconds, or teleporting two of the Portuguese player’s friends to his side to watch the match in stands packed with fans. These sequences accompany this video, which features a significant deployment of technical and human resources and extras to give it a realistic, fun and dynamic feel.
