By February, the market responded positively with a 90%+ increase, signaling a quick adjustment. In March, the decline eased to 22% year-over-year.
Strong outlook for 2025
Betting volume is expected to grow by 20% to 30% by the end of the year. Brazil’s iGaming market, driven by strong regulation, technology adoption, and localized marketing, is projected to exceed US$4 billion by 2029.
Regulated betting in Brazil
Fixed-odds betting was legalized through Law 13,756/2018 (sports) and Law 14,790/2023 (online gaming). Since January 1, 2025, only licensed companies approved by the Prizes and Betting Secretariat (SPA) may operate nationwide.
Each license allows up to three brands, each operating its own website under the official “.bet.br” domain.
