Brazil: Pix Loses Exclusivity

In the first half of 2025, sports betting surpassed online casinos for the first time, accounting for 59.5 % of total transactions — about R$ 434.7 million — compared to 40.5 % (R$ 295.8 million) for casinos.
Pix, once nearly universal, fell from around 98 % market share in 2023 to 63.29 % in 2025, a drop of more than 30 percentage points.
