BSOP begins new era under Moraes’ leadership
Goal: triple revenue and expand poker across LATAM
Brazil.- July 24, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com The Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), the largest poker circuit in Latin America, has appointed Rafael Moraes as CEO, marking a new chapter in agreement with founder Igor Trafane. Moraes, a PokerStars ambassador, aims to position BSOP as the leader in competitive entertainment in the region.
The strategy is to triple revenue by 2026, focusing on digital content monetization, new cash game verticals, and expanding sponsorships, while seeking partnerships with fintechs, media, and tourism sectors.
Under Moraes, BSOP has launched the BSOP ONE, all-inclusive luxury hotel experiences, and the BSOP Poker Show, a monthly streaming program, while expanding high buy-in tournaments to attract international players.
In 2024, BSOP awarded R$ 200 million in prizes, hosted over 30,000 players from 50 countries, and generated R$ 120 million in tourism for host cities.
Despite the transition, Trafane remains a minority shareholder and will continue in the gaming sector as President of the World Poker Federation and H2Bet’s board chairman.
