BSOP Championship Sets Record with R$ 20 Million Prize Pool

Brazil.– 11 November 2025 – www.zonadeazar.com The Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) will close the 2025 season with its largest event ever, offering R$ 20 million in total prizes and crowning a champion with R$ 4 million in São Paulo.

Overview
Taking place from 14 to 29 November at the WTC Sheraton São Paulo, the final BSOP stage will feature 104 events, including the flagship BSOP Championship — the biggest poker tournament ever organized in Latin America.

Details / Context
The main event guarantees R$ 20 million in prizes, with R$ 4 million going to the winner and payouts to the top 15 % of participants. Organizers confirmed the prize pool regardless of entries, though exceeding 800 players could push the total beyond the announced record.

The buy-in is set at R$ 30 000, and each player receives an equal starting stack. The tournament runs from 22 to 29 November, coinciding with the close of the season.

Historical comparison
The BSOP already held Brazil’s record for the highest individual sports prize: in 2024, Leandro Zavodini earned R$ 3.5 million by winning The Legends. The new purse far exceeds other sports rewards — the Stock Car Corrida do Milhão champion earns R$ 1 million, and individual Olympic gold medalists from Paris 2024 received R$ 350 000.

Future outlook
Founded in 2006, the BSOP has become Latin America’s leading poker circuit and was honored at the Global Poker Awards as the best circuit of the year. For 2025, the organization expects to distribute over R$ 110 million, breaking the previous record and further elevating Brazilian poker on the global stage.
