CBF–SIGA Alliance Strengthens Integrity and Modernisation of Brazilian Football

Brazil.– October 29, 2025 – www.zonadeazar.com  A milestone meeting held at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) headquarters in Rio de Janeiro brought together Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Global CEO of the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) and President & CEO of SIGA Latin America, and Samir Xaud, President of the CBF.

The encounter reaffirmed a shared commitment to integrity, good governance, and the modernisation of Brazilian football.

This meeting builds upon the agreement signed in March 2024 between both institutions, consolidating a joint agenda focused on sports betting integrity, financial transparency, sustainability, and the professionalisation of football in Brazil.
The dialogue was open and constructive, with both leaders aiming to define strategic priorities that will shape the future of Brazilian football.

During the discussions, SIGA and CBF aligned on the importance of reinforcing compliance mechanisms, ethical education, and institutional transparency—pillars of a modern and trusted sporting ecosystem.

With more than three decades of experience in football governance, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros has played a pivotal role in strengthening global integrity structures.

He previously served as CEO and founder of the European Leagues Association, and has held senior positions within the Portuguese Professional Football League, UEFA, FIFA, the World Economic Forum, the European Commission, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), among others.

Medeiros also highlighted the progress made by SIGA Latin America in Brazil through partnerships with the Ministry of Sport, Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Comptroller General, the São Paulo Football Federation, and the CBF itself.
He also referenced a cooperation agreement with the National Congress through the Parliamentary Front for Football Modernisation, which commissioned SIGA to produce an independent study on the future of Brazilian football, including the legal feasibility of creating a unified professional league.
