Brazil.- July 3, 2025. www.zonadeazar.com – The four Brazilian clubs participating in the FIFA Club World Cup (Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense, and Palmeiras) display major betting sponsors on their jerseys, consolidating Brazil as the most open and active market for betting sponsorships in international football.
Data on club and betting sponsorship ties
According to a survey by Aposta Legal, 17 out of 32 participating clubs have some form of partnership with betting companies, either through direct jersey sponsorships or institutional agreements.
Six teams with main betting sponsors are from South America, including the Brazilian teams, along with Boca Juniors and River Plate from Argentina.
In Europe, only Inter Milan and Porto have main betting sponsorships visible on their jerseys, while Benfica and Pachuca display betting logos in secondary areas.
Seven clubs maintain betting partnerships without visible exposure: PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, and Auckland City.
Brazil, a fertile market for betting sponsorships
Brazil’s leadership reflects the country’s advanced stage of market openness and regulation. With an active advertising market and legislation allowing betting brands on jerseys, Brazilian football has become fertile ground for these sponsorships.
FIFA acknowledges the sector’s relevance, with Betano, a Greek operator with a strong presence in Brazilian football, among its official tournament partners.
In other markets, legal restrictions limit betting sponsors on jerseys, while European clubs have stronger financial structures, reducing reliance on these deals.
