IPLyC Misiones Addressed Gambling Addiction Prevention
Argentina.– November 13, 2025 – www.zonadeazar.com The Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) of Misiones, through its Responsible Gaming Team, carried out a series of gambling addiction prevention activities in collaboration with the Infor-Mate Program, promoted by the Ministry of Cabinet Coordination, in Mojón Grande.
The event took place at the Central Club, bringing together over 100 participants, including high school students, police officers, and municipal staff. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about gambling risks and promote healthy entertainment habits.
Psychologists from the team emphasized the importance of understanding that “betting games do not guarantee financial gain,” encouraging students to think critically about gambling expectations.
The team also visited School No. 193, conducting prevention workshops for sixth and seventh graders, reinforcing early awareness and education.
Training focused on senior citizens
Meanwhile, the program “Well-being in Old Age: Prevention and Approach to Gambling Addiction” concluded its final module, aimed at health professionals and caregivers.
Dr. Julio Brizuela discussed addictive behaviors in older adults, focusing on early detection of problematic online gaming, prevention strategies, and the importance of interdisciplinary teamwork.
Next event in Campo Ramón
On Friday, November 14, the IPLyC team will travel to Campo Ramón to deliver the talk “Prevention Tools for Gambling Addiction in Older Adults” at the local sports complex.
The activity, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, the Municipality, and IPLyC professionals, will gather participants from 25 de Mayo, Campo Viera, General Alvear, Villa Bonita, Colonia Alberdi, Panambí, and neighboring areas.
The session will promote reflection, awareness, and emotional well-being among older adults, alongside educational visits to local schools.
