LOTBA Updates Agency Regulations to Modernize its Sales Network

A new framework for a more agile and transparent system

According to the regulator, the updated framework seeks to be “more modern, organized, and aligned with the current needs of the market,” focusing on simplified procedures, free administrative processes, and the adoption of digital channels.

Key changes in the regulation

Free and simplified procedures

Fees are eliminated for administrative tasks such as change of location or license transfer, while bureaucratic steps in processes like representative appointments are reduced.

Registry of Applicants

A new registry will allow qualified individuals to apply for inactive or new licenses, ensuring transparency and fair access.

Digital advertising and new operations

Agencies are now allowed to promote themselves on digital channels and process bets and payments online, moving beyond the traditional in-person model.

Direct responsibility of agents

Agents will be solely responsible for securing permits and authorizations from relevant authorities, streamlining the operational process.
