Zona de Azar Argentina – Argentina: Betano Authorized to Operate iGaming in Mendoza

Mendoza.-  July 16, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com  The Instituto Provincial de Juegos y Casinos (IPJyC) of Mendoza has announced that Betano, an online gambling house owned by Kaizen Gaming, has obtained its fifth license to operate iGaming in the province. This occurred after Rushbet, a brand of Rush Street Interactive Latin America, gave up the permission it had originally gained.

Rush Street Interactive Latin America transferred its license to Betano, a prominent online gaming company that sponsors the Copa América and the Argentine Football Association (AFA). Although the exact start of Betano’s operations in Mendoza has not yet been determined, it is expected that it will be ready, according to local media MDZ.

Since the IPJyC has explained that, according to Law 9267 and the terms of the previous bid, licenses can be ceded with the required authorization. Rush Street Interactive Latin America gave up its license to Betano, which complied with all legal requirements, thus becoming the fifth authorized operator in Mendoza.

Until June, online gaming operators in Mendoza were Betwarrior, Codere, Super7 and BPlay, while it was expected that Rushbet would begin operating.

At this moment, the IPJyC of Mendoza confirmed the issuance of two new licenses for the online sector through a resolution. It was specified that the selection process will be carried out through a public tender, which is scheduled to begin on August 20th.

Resolution 385 of the IPJyC directory establishes that this public bidding has as its objective “the provision of two licenses for the organization, development, exploitation, capture of resources and commercialization of gaming activity online in its various modalities, through mediums electronic, computerized, telematic or other interactive media”.
