Australia.- August 06th 2019 www.zonadeazar.com Victoria’s Minister for Gambling Marlene Kairouz has demanded that the state’s casino regulator carries out an immediate investigation into the allegations made against casino operator Crown Resorts.

These include the alleged special arrangements made for VIPs at immigration checks and the use of junkets with alleged links to criminal organisations.

She said: “The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation will cooperate fully with any investigation. I’ve asked the regulator to re-examine the allegations raised as a matter of priority and report back to me as soon as possible. I’ve also asked the department, with the assistance of the commission, to examine the regulatory arrangements of junket operators.”

The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) said. “The Commission continues to undertake a thorough and rigorous assessment of the submissions made by Crown in respect to the recommendations and the outcomes will be reported back to government.”

Crown has denied any wrongdoing. It said: “As a board, we are extremely concerned for our staff, shareholders and other stakeholders, as much of this unbalanced and sensationalised reporting is based on unsubstantiated allegations, exaggerations, unsupported connections and outright falsehoods. As an ASX listed company and a Board we are always striving to ensure we have the highest levels of governance and a commitment to the highest standards. It is deeply disappointing that the media involved in these inflammatory stories have not upheld the same principles.”
