In recent weeks, the news involving oranges in the negotiation of the master sponsorship contract between VaideBet and Corinthians ended up threatening the partnership between the club and the bookmaker. According to journalist Juca Kfouri, there would be an orange between the intermediaries of the negotiations between Corinthians and VaideBet. The news would have caused discomfort on the betting platform that is considering terminating the agreement with Timão.

The contract between VaideBet and Corinthians is the largest master sponsorship partnership in the history of Brazilian football, generating R$370 million for the São Paulo team during the three years of validity of the contract with the bookmaker. The deliberative council has been investigating the contract, as the payment of a commission worth R$25.2 million to the company Rede Social Media Desing has been generating distrust behind the scenes at the club.

According to Kfouri, the amount already deposited was transferred to the company Neoway Soluções Integradas em Serviços LTDA in two pix transfers on March 25th and 26th in the amounts of R$580 thousand and 420 thousand, respectively. However, Neoway’s partner, Edna Oliveira dos Santos, is unaware of the information and even lives in a simple house and does not know Alex Cassundé, partner of Rede Social, the company that intermediated the negotiation and another curious point is that Neoway’s address is registered in a co-working space and according to the receptionist no one frequents the space.

And according to ge, on the 27th, the bookmaker sent an extrajudicial notification to Corinthians, citing the anti-corruption clause in the contract between the club and bookmaker. In the notification, VaideBet talks again about the possibility of ending its partnership with the club for the second time, the first time having been done via email sent a week before.

The document was signed by lawyer Plinio Augusto Lemos Jorge and executive director José André da Rocha Neto, and states that “the linking of VaideBet’s name with the present scandal involving the Corinthians board and the intermediary makes the present contractual relationship excessively onerous for the sponsor, as it links the brand to a negative situation, causing discredit, potential loss and risk of low return on investment made in the sports entity”.

In an official note, Timão highlighted that, “All negotiations, including sponsorships, took place legally with regularly constituted companies. The club emphasizes that it is not responsible for any transfer of amounts to third parties. If any evidence of illicit acts is presented, These will be discussed with the Deliberative Council for any necessary measures.”
