Brazil.- August 30, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The betting company Betnacional has withdrawn its proposal to be the master sponsor of Palmeiras for the next season. The information was released on Tuesday (27th) by journalist Danilo Lavieri from UOL.
According to Lavieri, Betnacional was dissatisfied with the lack of response from the club’s marketing department.
Initially, the betting company had offered R$ 100 million per year to sponsor Palmeiras, without exclusivity on the jersey. This amount could reach up to R$ 160 million, depending on the team’s performance on the field.
Currently, Palmeiras receives R$ 81 million from Crefisa and FAM, which can reach up to R$ 120 million with bonuses.
Details of the negotiation between Betnacional and Palmeiras
Negotiations began in June when Betnacional presented an initial proposal on the 27th. However, over the weeks, the company did not receive a response from the club.
On July 16, the betting company sent a new offer, this time with a seven-day response deadline. Without any response, the company extended the deadline until August 12, but again did not receive a reply from Palmeiras.
Palmeiras and Betnacional do not reach a sponsorship agreement
Given this situation, Betnacional felt uncomfortable with the lack of communication from the club. The company started to believe that Palmeiras might be using its proposal as a benchmark to attract other sponsors willing to offer more.
As usual, the São Paulo club did not comment on the case. However, the board considers it normal to withdraw proposals during negotiations and sets deadlines internally within the marketing department.
