Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: Brazilian Volleyball Confederation Announced Partnership with Sportradar AG

Brazil – March 14, 2025 – www.zonadeazar.com The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) announced today an extensive partnership with Sportradar AG, a global leader in sports technology, to enhance Brazilian volleyball by modernizing statistical data collection, increasing fan engagement, and combating corruption and match-fixing.

Throughout the five-year agreement, Sportradar will expand the use of computers to capture in-depth data from games and training sessions, both on indoor courts and beach volleyball. The partnership includes the creation of a data hub to monitor and track Brazilian players across all categories, with the implementation of automated data collection technology and video production at the Volleyball Development Center Enel, in Saquarema.

In collaboration with another CBV partner, VolleyStation – a company specialized in volleyball software – Sportradar will provide several new technological solutions for the confederation.

The agreement has already facilitated the modernization of statistical data collection and the implementation of the Video Review System (challenge system) in all Superliga matches, ensuring more precise and efficient refereeing during competitions.

Sportradar will also be responsible for protecting CBV’s more than 7,400 annual matches against corruption and match-fixing through its renowned Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), as well as providing other integrity services, including educational workshops for athletes, officials, and referees.

“We are very proud to announce that CBV has chosen Sportradar to transform the sports performance of Brazilian volleyball. Through this partnership, we are equipping CBV with deep data and valuable insights to identify the next generation of champions, while ensuring the integrity of all competitions they participate in,” said Sergio Floris, Managing Director of Sportradar in Brazil.

“The partnership with Sportradar has already brought significant results, such as the implementation of the challenge system in all Superliga matches, providing even more security and fairness to the games. Additionally, the specific data of each athlete is a fundamental tool for the development of national volleyball,” explained Jorge Bichara, CBV’s Technical Director.

“We are strengthening and expanding the partnership with Sportradar through its portfolio of products and services to increase CBV’s technical, operational, and commercial efficiency. This is another important step in our ongoing efforts to enhance the relationship between fans and the sport. The data generated by Sportradar will enable the development of new experiences for fans and new revenue opportunities for CBV,” concluded Henrique Netto, CBV’s Director of Marketing and New Business.
