In the ordinance issued at the end of May, companies must meet five criteria, which are:

legal qualification;
fiscal and labor regularity;
suitability;
economic-financial qualification,
technical qualification.

Also according to the document, the request for authorization to operate in Brazil will be registered in the SIGAP, Betting Management System and, after analysis by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting, it will be sent to the Ministry of Sports.

As a result, betting houses must demonstrate high economic and financial capacity, in addition to having headquarters and a self-service channel for bettors in the country. Companies must also comply with money laundering and terrorist financing prevention policies and have actions that promote responsible gambling, in order to guarantee the integrity of bets, combat match-fixing and adopt good advertising and advertising practices. .

Once this is done, the Ministry of Sports will carry out the first analysis and if everything is in agreement, it will report the facts to the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting and from there the authorization for the license to operate in the Brazilian market will be issued.

Precisely this week, the document that determines the rate of R$ 30 million to operate in the country was registered in the DOU, with the possibility of three brands. In addition, companies interested in entering the market will have until July to join. List of Prizes and Bets, which has a period of 180 days to analyze said requests.

Last week, the Secretary of Prizes and Betting, Régis Dudena, stated that the transition process will begin and companies that request authorization to operate in the national market will have until August 20 to send the necessary documentation and will receive a response in 2024. , in which all authorized companies in the first group will have their qualification ordinances published jointly.
