Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazilian Ministry of Finance Authorises 21 New Sports Betting Companies

Brazil.- February 12, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com The Ministry of Finance’s Bureau of Prizes and Betting (SPA/MF) published a new list of companies authorised to operate fixed odds betting on a definitive basis in yesterday’s Federal Official Gazette (DOU).

The Ministry of Finance’s Secretariat for Prizes and Betting (SPA/MF) announced a new list of companies authorised to operate fixed odds betting on a definitive basis in this Tuesday’s Official Gazette (DOU).

A total of 21 new authorisations were granted, valid until 31 December 2029, including 20 conversions and a new licence for Nexus International Ltda (MEGAPOSTA).

To date, SPA/MF has issued 35 definitive and 34 provisional authorisations. Currently, 78 companies are authorised to operate, 69 through definitive and provisional authorisations (71 licences) and seven by court decision, for a total of 172 brands.

Provisional authorisations were granted to companies that met the initial stages of the process but, at the end of the 30-day period, were unable to meet all the requirements. However, their pending issues were considered to be able to be regularised. As a result, the number of provisional authorisations fell from 54 to 34.

The authorised companies will be able to operate the fixed-odds lottery, in accordance with Laws 13.756/2018 and 14.790/2023, the SPA Ordinances and the information in the SIGAP process.
