Zona de Azar Brazil – San Paulo Resumes Private Lottery Concession Plans

Brazil.- 13th December 2023 www.zonadeazar.com After a hiatus of over a year, the government of the State of São Paulo is resuming its initiative to privatize the state lottery.

On December 21st, a public hearing will take place, both physically at the SP Regulatory Agency headquarters and virtually, aiming to introduce the potential concession to the public and gather feedback for the upcoming bidding process.

In response to dissatisfaction from the local and international lottery community regarding the initial plan to grant the State Lottery to a single operator, the government is now exploring a new model.

The reinitiated process adheres to the original framework of the State Privatization Program, providing an opportunity for stakeholders to express their views until December 18th.
