Zona de Azar Canada – Ottawa’s Rideau Carleton Casino Reopens as Covid Restrictions Ease
Canada.- August 17, 2021 www.zonadeazar.com The Rideau Carleton Casino in Ottawa will open its doors to patrons today as step 3 of Canada’s roadmap to reopen continues to be implemented. This stage will see the property open its slots and electronic table games to customers.
The casino, which will soon be the Hard Rock Ottawa, will allow guests to enter from 9pm local time on Monday August 16. Step 3 of Canada’s roadmap to reopen will allow land-based casino properties to open at 50% of total capacity.
Furthermore, a number of other safety precautions will be implemented. Patrons and staff will be required to wear a facemask while indoors and guests will be asked to social distance. As well as this, slots and electronic table games will be separated by Plexiglas barriers to prevent unnecessary spread.
In a statement, the casino stated that it has: “implemented a Safe and Sound protocol system. The policy includes increased routine cleaning with a focus on high-touch surfaces and common areas, and free-standing touchless hand sanitizers set up at entrances, host stands, bars, ATMs and more.”
“We are looking forward to welcoming our guests back to a safe and sound and fun environment,” said Helen MacMillan, general manager of Rideau Carleton Casino.
In 2017 Hard Rock announced plans to renovate and operate the Rideau Carleton casino and raceway in a project worth $320m. 2018 saw the company begin the project with a $44m casino renovation.
