Chile.- May 17, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Representatives of Dreams and Marina del Sol applauded Chile’s judicial decision to reopen the investigation against online betting platforms, reiterating that they operate illegally.

Carlos Gajardo, lawyer for Casino Dreams Monticello, appreciated the court’s resolution, stating that it sets the correct criterion on the illegality of online betting in Chile and the need to investigate thoroughly.

The Fourth Guarantee Court of Santiago accepted the request to carry out new proceedings before closing the investigation, requested by San Francisco Investment, Marina del Sol and Polla Chilena de Beneficencia. Gajardo explained that online gaming companies have addresses abroad and lack clear legal representatives in Chile.

The law firm Espinoza & Heskia, who represents Marina del Sol, expressed satisfaction with the judicial decision, hoping that it will accelerate the investigation and prosecution of those responsible. María Soledad Ramírez, shareholder of the Santiago Equestrian Club, described the decision as reasonable and pertinent, highlighting that it will allow progress in the investigation of links in Chile with online betting.
