Zona de Azar Denmark – Danish Gambling Authority updates Reporting Requirements

Denmark.- May 27, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Danish Gambling Authority (DGA) has announced an update to the requirements for reporting game data, inviting interested parties to comment before the final version is issued.

The updated requirements are expected to come into force in 2025, though the exact date has yet to be determined. A possible transition period will also be detailed upon issuing the final requirements.

Several significant changes and additions are included in the update.

Key adjustments involve the addition of a requirement for bets on fixed odds to be reported as independent transactions, as well as new reporting requirements for betting odds and event information, including a list of country codes and sports.

Additionally, the update includes new requirements for reporting Random Number Generators (RNG) used for Virtual Fixed Odds – stipulating that a casino session cannot be interrupted mid-move (as well as defining how a “move” is characterised).

The updated requirements also clarify the reporting of different poker types and include new obligations for win lists in poker tournaments and manager games.

Finally, the update details the downscaling of pool games and adds new requirements for providing test data for jackpots – amongst a range of other changes.

Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback on these updates to ensure the final requirements effectively address industry needs and regulatory objectives.

In related news, DGA declared that market liberalisation has proved a success for Denmark at the 10-year anniversary of the decision in 2022.

The announcement was in reference to the country opening up to private iGaming companies in 2013, moving away from the governmental monopoly of the industry.
