Peru.- August 28, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com On August 28, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games begin, and our country will be represented by 13 athletes who will aim to reach the podium among the best. Our delegation, the largest in history, will be supported by the Peruvian company Apuesta Total.

The sports celebration continues after Peru’s successful participation in the recent Olympic Games in Paris. On August 28, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will kick off, where Peru will be represented by 13 para-athletes and 4 assistants/guides, forming the largest delegation in our history.

This year, the flag bearers for Peru will be Pilar Jáuregui and Jorge Arcela, following their outstanding achievements in recent para-badminton and para-shooting competitions, respectively. The presence of para-taekwondo athlete Angélica Espinoza in the delegation also stands out, as she ended a 20-year gold medal drought for Peru at the Paralympic Games with her gold medal in Tokyo 2020.

Supporting Our Athletes

It is worth mentioning that the National Paralympic Association of Peru (ANPP), which is part of the International Olympic Committee, is the institution responsible for promoting para-sport in Peru. Since 2022, it has been sponsored by the Peruvian company Apuesta Total, a strategic alliance that, as recently confirmed by Gonzalo Pérez, CEO of the popular betting company, “will be long-term.”

Through this partnership, Apuesta Total reaffirms its commitment to sports, providing continuous support to our Paralympic athletes, from their extensive preparation process to their journey to Paris, with the conviction to promote the comprehensive development of Peruvian sports.
