Zona de Azar UK – GamCare CEO Anna Hemmings Resigns

UK.- June 12, 2023 www.zonadeazar.com After joining the charity in January 2018, GamCare’s CEO Anna Hemmings has now resigned.

Coming into the job, Hemmings had a wealth of experience working in addictions recovery and senior management across the private and third sector. During her tenure, Hemmings helped the charity to extend its reach and obtained new funding agreements, as well as giving direction and guidance to GamCare throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

GamCare is a UK charity that provides free advice, information and support for those who are affected by gambling. A ‘recovery toolkit’ is available to help aid you in seeking help such as: software to block access to gambling sites and marketing messages, self-exclusion advice, money management, as well as workbooks and self-guided resources to allow people to receive help at their own pace.

Recently, GamCare, Gamban and Gamstop revealed that their joint collective project, TalkBanStop, had been granted a three-year funding extension from GambleAware.

Ex-GamCare CEO Hemmings said: “It has been an enormous privilege to work in this fantastic charity over the last few years. In that time, GamCare has changed in so many positive ways that mean that tens of thousands more people who need support are reached than five years ago.”

BGC Chairman, Brigid Simmonds OBE, said: “I want to thank Anna Hemmings for her excellent work and stewardship as CEO of GamCare. Her extensive experience of change management was central to GamCare’s expansion of its excellent services beyond the helpline to setting up treatment services across the UK.

“Everyone at the BGC wants to thank Anna for her hard work and dedication and we all wish her the very best for her future endeavours.”
