Zona de Azar Uruguay – Uruguay: New State Casino Approved in Maldonado

Uruguay.- March 13, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com The General Directorate of Casinos (DGC) of Uruguay has approved the establishment of a new gaming hall in Maldonado, located in the Atlántico Shopping mall.

The project, awarded to the construction company MTA S.A., will cost UYU 38 million (USD 896,000).

The casino will operate exclusively with slot machines, and the investment is expected to be recovered in at least two years.

The lease contract for the premises will last five years, with an automatic extension for two more.

Additionally, the DGC has launched a bidding process to grant concessions for bar, cafeteria, security, and reception services at the new establishment.
