Zona de Azar USA – MGM Tweaks Phone Rules to Accommodate Gaming Content on Social Media
USA.- June 07, 2023 www.zonadeazar.com Following a rise in gambling-related content on social media, MGM Resorts is tweaking its rules regarding customers taking photos or videos close to gaming tables at its casinos in Nevada.
The move is expected to appeal to the TikTok/Instagram generation.
Players will now be able to take photos, videos and stream as long as the broadcasting doesn’t interfere with the game and the person gets permission from the casino first. Additionally, players will be allowed to take photos of their hands for personal reasons. Players will be able to send texts as long as this doesn’t interfere with game play. They can talk on their phones briefly as long as they are not playing in the current round.
They won’t be allowed to engage in long talks over the phone or taking photos of different gaming equipment. They can’t place items on the table for long periods and are also not allowed to take photos of casino employees or other customers visitors or record footage of the game.
MGM Resorts International said: “The Gaming Streaming/Video/Photo Policy is launching for the Nevada properties in May 2023. The new policy is aimed at allowing our guests to take photos and videos, and, when appropriate, to share that content in real or in near real-time via social media broadcasts (‘streams’ or ‘streaming’) while limiting the risks associated with allowing photography, filming, and streaming in MGM Resorts’ gaming establishments.”
MGM operates the MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Luxor, Excalibur, New York-New York, Park MGM/NoMad, and Aria in Nevada
