Zona de Azar USA – Online Sports Betting Launches in Vermont
USA.- January 12nd 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Vermont sports enthusiasts can now engage in online wagering as the state officially introduced mobile sports betting on Thursday.
Governor Phil Scott, a Republican, announced last month that DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics Sportsbook were chosen to operate the mobile sports betting platforms in Vermont. Emphasizing the importance of consumer protections, he highlighted that the regulated marketplace is expected to generate revenue for the state.
Governor Scott anticipates that the sports betting initiative will contribute up to $7 million in revenue to Vermont during its first full year. In June, he signed a bill into law, thereby legalizing online sports betting in Vermont, making it the latest addition to the nearly three dozen states that have embraced this form of gambling.
To participate, individuals must be at least 21 years old. The Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery, in collaboration with the state Department of Mental Health, will annually provide the Legislature with a report on the impact of sports betting on problem gambling within the state.
Furthermore, operators are obligated to submit a responsible gaming plan to the state each year. This plan must encompass details regarding the display of materials related to problem gambling, resources available to bettors concerned about problem gambling, house-imposed player limits, and self-exclusion programs.
