According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s Thursday report, the total gaming revenue for December 2023 reached an all-time high of $534,215,808.
This surpasses the previous monthly record, set in March 2023, of $515,278,831. The December revenue reflects a year-over-year increase of 12.5%.
The report highlights other notable records, with igaming revenue reaching $165,110,845, surpassing the previous high of $159,490,505 in September 2023. Additionally, sports wagering revenue hit $72,506,446, exceeding the previous record of $63,674,326 in November 2021.
Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia emerged as the leading casino in Pennsylvania, boasting $92.1 million in gaming revenue, a remarkable year-over-year increase of 42.7%.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville reported revenue of $75.6 million, a modest 0.98% increase compared to December 2022, while Park Casino generated $57.4 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 5.2%.
In terms of slot revenue, Pennsylvania saw a 4.9% increase in December, totaling $207.7 million compared to the same period in 2022. Parx Casino recorded slot revenue of $32.4 million, slightly down by 1.0% year-over-year.
Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $23.4 million, reflecting a 5.9% increase from the previous year, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh contributed $23.4 million, marking a 2.2% increase.
The record igaming revenue of $165.1 million, encompassing slots, table games, and poker, was led by Hollywood Casino at Penn National, contributing $60.9 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported $41.3 million, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia posted $26.2 million in igaming revenue.
The sports betting sector also experienced a record revenue of $72.5 million, with a handle of $925.6 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort led with a $394.2 million handle, yielding revenue of $39.2 million.
Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands reported sports betting revenue of $19.2 million from a handle of $235.7 million, and Hollywood Casino Morgantown generated revenue of $3.6 million from a handle of $52.0 million.
