Casino JOA de Gérardmer Completes €3 Million Renovation
France.- 11 August 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Casino JOA de Gérardmer, located in France’s Vosges department, has unveiled its new look following the completion of an extensive renovation programme lasting almost eight months.
The project required a €3 million investment funded by JOA and formed part of the commitments associated with the new 15-year concession secured in 2023.
News Details
The works covered both the gaming floor and the venue’s dining and entertainment areas.
One of the principal additions is a 50-square-metre gaming terrace, equipped with modern slot machines and popular products including Lightning Link, Cash Connection and video poker.
Despite the renovation, the casino has maintained its existing gaming inventory of 75 slot machines, 14 electronic English roulette positions, seven electronic blackjack stations and two traditional blackjack tables.
Two sports bars have also been created: one positioned outside the ID-controlled gaming area and accessible to the general public, and another located within the casino floor.
Industry Context
The refurbishment was designed to modernise the property, improve customer comfort and raise the overall quality of the visitor experience.
The new dining proposition includes a restaurant with 50 indoor seats and a further 80 places on its lakeside terrace.
The Sports Bar provides 30 seats indoors and another 50 on its terrace and has attracted considerable activity during broadcasts of major sporting events.
Allowing customers to access the new bar without entering the gaming floor also expands the venue’s potential audience, including families with minors who previously could not use the only bar located inside the casino.
Statements
Casino General Manager Lilian Castaing highlighted that the project has completely renewed both the gaming and dining spaces while introducing additional facilities designed to improve the customer experience.
He also reported highly positive visitor feedback, particularly towards the new food and beverage offering and the large-screen sports broadcasts.
Next Steps or Impact
Casino JOA de Gérardmer holds a concession running until 2038, providing a long-term framework in which to capitalise on the investment.
The property generated €10.83 million in gross gaming revenue during the 2024-2025 financial year, placing it 85th in France’s national casino rankings.
The upgraded venue will now seek to strengthen its position as a broader leisure destination combining gaming, dining, sport and outdoor spaces within a single proposition.
