ALEA to Train Gambling Sector on Anti-Money Laundering
Argentina.- 12 August 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Argentina’s Association of State Lotteries, Pools and Casinos (ALEA) will hold a specialist seminar on 2 September covering Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT) requirements specifically affecting the gambling sector.
The event will take place at the NH Collection Buenos Aires Centro Histórico and is aimed at authorities, technical teams, professionals, Compliance Officers and specialists working in the field.

The seminar is intended to examine the principal challenges arising from the current regulatory environment and provide tools to strengthen prevention systems and the ability of operators and public bodies to adapt.
The programme will be divided into nine panels addressing different aspects of gambling-sector compliance.
Key topics will include regulatory developments, the requirements established under UIF Resolution 194/2023, risk-based approaches, self-assessment and sector-specific risk matrices.
The programme will also examine risks and controls within land-based gambling, the particular challenges of online gaming and the impact of technology on emerging forms of criminal activity.
Compliance and Monitoring
Further sessions will examine the role of intermediaries and suppliers within extended compliance frameworks, alongside due diligence, monitoring and red-flag detection.
Another panel will focus on unusual transactions, Suspicious Transaction Reports, documentation requirements and evidence preservation.
The programme will conclude with an integrated workshop designed to develop a practical roadmap for participants.
Certificates of participation will be issued at the end of the seminar.
Registration
The registration deadline is 26 August.
ALEA members will pay ARS 250,000 per participant, with one registration offered free of charge when an organisation enrols more than one attendee.
The fee for non-members will be ARS 350,000 per participant.
Registration includes participation in the seminar, coffee breaks, lunch and a closing cocktail reception at the Turf Hall of the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo.

The initiative is intended to strengthen prevention and compliance capabilities across Argentina’s gambling industry amid increasingly demanding regulatory and technological requirements.
By addressing land-based gaming, online platforms, suppliers, monitoring and warning indicators together, the seminar will provide an integrated approach to AML/CFT risk.
The training will also give operators and public authorities an opportunity to update internal procedures in line with current obligations and emerging criminal methodologies.
