Caixa Moves Saturday Lottery Draws to Sundays

Brazil.- 18 August 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Caixa Loterias has introduced new rules for its lottery products in Brazil, including a significant change to the general draw calendar.

Under the new Circular No. 1,123, events and draws traditionally held on Saturdays will now take place on Sundays.

The measure forms part of version 21 of Caixa Loterias’ Product Manual and is already in force nationwide.

New Draw Calendar

The most significant change for customers is the transfer of competitions previously held on Saturdays to Sundays.

The change requires adjustments across physical lottery retailers, digital channels and commercial partners involved in distributing Caixa products.

The new rules became effective on the same date the circular was published.

Valid Receipt Required for Prizes

The updated manual also introduces a consumer-security provision.

Only bets that have been successfully registered and generated a valid physical or digital receipt will be eligible for prize distribution.

The measure establishes a clear form of evidence confirming a customer’s participation in each draw.

Changes to Dia de Sorte

The Dia de Sorte lottery has also been updated.

Caixa changed its official schedule and adjusted the maximum number of “teimosinha” entries, a feature allowing players to repeat the same selected numbers automatically across multiple consecutive draws.

The amendments now form part of the operating conditions for the lottery.

Timemania Update

Timemania has also been affected by the new rules.

The lottery now features an updated team correlation table, modifying part of the structure used for its competitions.

The change forms part of the broader revisions introduced through the latest Product Manual.

Greater Flexibility for Loteca Especial

Loteca Especial received a regulatory amendment expanding the potential scope of the format.

The new wording adds the expression “or related to any other theme”, creating greater flexibility for special competitions.

The change could enable future draws linked to events or themes beyond those previously contemplated.

Regulatory Context

Circular No. 1,123 was signed by Executive Director Thays Cintra Vieira and replaces the previous document that had been in force since May.

The Product Manual consolidates rules covering lottery formats, fees, sales channels, prizes and distribution of proceeds.

The new provisions apply nationwide and must be followed throughout the network connected to Caixa Loterias products.

Next Steps or Impact

Lottery retailers, digital platforms and commercial partners will now operate under the revised timetable and updated conditions.

Moving Saturday draws to Sunday changes a long-established routine for Brazilian lottery customers, while amendments to individual products are designed to update operational processes and broaden certain commercial possibilities.

The new Product Manual is already in force and will serve as the official reference for Caixa Loterias operations across Brazil.
