SOFTSWISS Closes SBC Lisbon With Award and 2027 Trends Report

Portugal.- 8 October 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com SOFTSWISS concluded its participation at SBC Summit Lisbon 2026 with an award for its Game Aggregator, the launch of the fifth edition of its iGaming Trends Report and a series of discussions focused on artificial intelligence, regulation, digital maturity and prediction markets.

The event brought together approximately 40,000 industry professionals from more than 150 countries.

Aggregator of the Year

The SOFTSWISS Game Aggregator was named Aggregator of the Year at the SBC Awards 2026.

The platform currently connects operators to more than 40,000 games from over 300 studios through a single integration.

Fifth iGaming Trends Report

One of the company’s main announcements was the launch of the 2027 iGaming Trends Report.

The edition marks five years of research into industry development and was produced in partnership with WorldGaming, formerly Clarion.

More Than 500 Experts

The report is based on:

  • A survey of more than 500 industry professionals.
  • Analysis of over 480,000 media headlines.
  • Tier-1 company case studies.
  • Market and regional trend data.

Its aim is to distinguish structural industry shifts from short-term hype.

Beyond iGaming

For the first time, the report includes a chapter titled Beyond iGaming.

It compares the gambling sector with industries including:

  • E-commerce.
  • Sports.
  • Film.
  • Gaming.
  • Streaming.
  • E-pharma.
  • Crypto.

The comparison covers market size, growth, regulatory burden and digital maturity.

Artificial Intelligence

Amazon Web Services contributed analysis on AI adoption.

The report examines how AI is moving from experimental pilots into production use cases across:

  • Compliance.
  • Fraud detection.
  • Personalisation.
  • Customer support.
  • Operational automation.

It also considers the shift from AI assistants towards more autonomous systems.

A More Mature Market

SOFTSWISS Deputy CMO Alexandra Kavelich said the iGaming market has grown from around €48 billion in 2019 to more than €307.3 billion in GGR in 2026.

The report projects the market could reach approximately €461.84 billion by 2031.

At the same time, annual growth is expected to moderate from rates close to 30% towards roughly 9%, signalling a more mature industry.

Regulation and Localisation

SOFTSWISS also highlighted that international scale alone no longer guarantees success.

Companies increasingly need to adapt to regulatory requirements, player preferences and operational conditions in individual markets.

Localisation is therefore becoming a core part of expansion strategy.

Prediction Markets

Prediction markets received significant attention during SBC Summit.

The 2026 edition included its first Global Prediction Markets Forum.

SOFTSWISS also showcased its Prediction Markets Platform and participated in dedicated sessions exploring the vertical.

Changing Priorities

The company identified a clear shift from trends that dominated discussion several years ago.

Topics such as NFTs, the metaverse and wearable betting have lost prominence compared with:

  • Artificial intelligence.
  • Regulation.
  • Trust.
  • Localisation.
  • Emerging markets.
  • Prediction markets.

Next Steps or Impact

SOFTSWISS will use the findings of the report to guide discussions with operators and suppliers throughout 2027.

The central message is that iGaming is moving into a more mature stage in which competitive advantage will depend less on rapid expansion and more on efficiency, compliance, technology and the ability to adapt successfully to individual markets.
