Agreement boosts the global reach of Brazilian football
Brasil.- July 11, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com 1190 Sports has officially confirmed that it will once again hold the exclusive international broadcasting rights for the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, after signing a three-season agreement (2025-2027) with the Liga Forte União (LFU) and Libra.
Global coverage of the Brasileirão
The deal grants 1190 Sports multiplatform rights to broadcast all Brasileirão matches globally, except Flamengo games, as the club maintains its own international distribution model.
From 2020 to 2023, 1190 Sports managed these rights, broadcasting over 2,400 live hours to more than 150 countries in 13 languages, reaching a potential audience of 650 million viewers.
After Infront managed the rights in 2024, negotiations extended for two months before 1190 Sports was reinstated as the broadcasting partner, allowing the Brasileirão to return to international platforms like Fanatiz, which has a strong presence in the US Latino market and over 130 countries.
Positive impact for clubs, players, and sponsors
Marcelo Paz, LFU President and Fortaleza CEO, emphasized that the agreement is a strategic step in expanding Brazilian football internationally:
“Bringing Brazilian football to a global audience increases the product’s value, strengthens clubs, players, and sponsors, and contributes to the sport’s economic growth.”
Interest in the Brasileirão has grown due to the strong performance of Brazilian clubs in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, with Brazil being the only country with four clubs participating: Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense, and Palmeiras.
Additionally, the presence of international stars like Neymar (Santos) and Memphis Depay (Corinthians) adds to the global appeal of the competition.
