Brazil: CGU and Siga Sports Sign Agreement to Strengthen Sports Integrity

Brazil – March 28, 2025 | www.zonadeazar.com The Office of the Comptroller General (CGU) and Siga Sports Latin America signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday (26) to enhance transparency and combat corruption in sports.
The signing took place at the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.
The objective is to share experiences and technologies to promote corporate compliance and encourage companies in the sector to join the Brazil Pact for Corporate Integrity.
Formal Partnership Between CGU and SIGA
The CGU Minister, Vinícius Marques de Carvalho, and the Global CEO of the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, formalized the partnership.
According to Carvalho, “we expect this partnership to foster the adoption of transparency and integrity measures in the sports sector, with concrete actions between institutions to support stakeholders, companies, and entities engaged in this crucial agenda.”
SIGA operates as an independent coalition seeking to implement high standards of governance and sports integrity. The signed agreement includes the development of policies, regulations, guidelines, and projects that encourage adherence to the Brazil Pact for Corporate Integrity.
Additionally, it includes the development of compliance programs specifically for the sports sector.
Commitment to Integrity and Ethics in Sports
During the event, SIGA Sports Latin America also formalized its participation as an institutional supporter of the Brazil Pact for Corporate Integrity. With this, the organization reinforces its commitment to promoting ethics and integrity in the sports sector.

The Brazil Pact is an initiative of the CGU that encourages companies and private institutions to publicly commit to corporate integrity. Participating organizations gain access to a self-assessment tool to improve their internal policies and align with best practices in corporate governance.
