EGBA Members Contributed €3.8 Billion in Taxes to Europe in 2024

Record Tax Contribution and Responsible Gambling Progress

U.K.-   ww.zonadeazar.com | July 15, 2025  The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) members contributed €3.8 billion in taxes to European economies in 2024, as detailed in the 2025 Sustainability Report. These taxes support public services and community projects.

Safer Gambling: 100 Million Safety Messages Sent

In 2024, EGBA operators sent 100 million safety messages to European players, a 48% increase from 2023. Of these, 28% were personalized based on user behavior, positively impacting 42%-46% of high-risk players. Following these communications, 21% of users activated safer gambling tools.

Key Highlights from EGBA 2025 Report

  • €735 million invested in European sports, with 62% in broadcasting rights.
  • €156.8 million donated to charities, up 4% from the previous year.
  • 69% of customers used safety tools, with deposit limits being the most popular.
  • 38.6 million player accounts registered (+19% YoY), 75% of which were male.
  • 15.9 million customer interactions recorded, mainly related to bonuses and promotions.
