Massachusetts.- July 22, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com   Massachusetts man Paul Corcoran won two $1 million Powerball prizes after mistakenly buying two identical tickets at different stores for the July 9 draw.

The mistake that turned into luck

A lottery error marked his first multi-draw ticket as completed, prompting him to buy another. Both tickets matched the five white balls: 5, 9, 25, 28, 69, and the Powerball 5.

Stores will also receive prizes

Both stores, a Market Basket in Fitchburg and a Country Farms in Leominster, will receive $10,000 each for selling the winning tickets. These are the first $1 million Powerball prizes sold in these cities.

Corcoran told lottery officials he has been playing those same random numbers for a while but has no plans yet for the winnings.

The next Powerball draw will be held on Monday, July 21, with an estimated jackpot of $308 million.
