Zona de Azar USA – Upstate NY Casino has one of America’s Top Gaming Hotels

USA.- September 23rd 2019 www.zonadeazar.com A ranking of the top casino hotels in the United States finds four of the top five in the Northeast and one — del Lago Resort Casino hotel near Waterloo — in Upstate New York.

The ranking comes from 10Best.com, affiliated with USA Today. Finalists were compiled by a panel of casino experts, and the final tally came from an online poll of USA Today readers.

Del Lago, located off Exit 41 of the New York state Thruway, came in at No. 4. That’s better than notable Top 10 finishers like Harrah’s in New Orleans, Beau Rivage on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Wynn Resorts and Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

“Del Lago Resort & Casino serves as a gateway to the Finger Lakes region, where guests stay in one of 205 luxuriously appointed rooms,” the 10Best write-up says. “The property includes a full-service spa with 14 treatment rooms, nine on-site restaurants, several retail venues and a calendar packed with live entertainment.”

Del Lago opened in February 2017 as one of four full-service casinos authorized to operate in Upstate New York in areas not covered by gaming compact with Indian nations. Its hotel opened five months later.

Del Lago was initially operated by Rochester real estate developer Thomas Wilmot and his company, Wilmorite, in partnership with Peninsula Pacific LLC of California. Last month, Wilmorite sold its 50 percent stake to Peninsula Pacific, making it the sole owner.
