98.7% of Betting Site Traffic in Brazil Comes from Mobile Devices

Brazilians Prefer Mobile as Their Main Betting Access Channel
Brasil.- 11 de Julho de 2025 www.zonadeazar.com In May 2025, 98.7% of visits to legal betting sites in Brazil were made via mobile devices, while only 1.3% came from computers, according to Aposta Legal.
This behavior strengthened after the release of official betting apps on Google Play and Apple Store, making access to platforms like Betano, Betnacional, Cassino, and EstrelaBet easier and more consistent.
Over 2 Billion Visits in One Month
During May, authorized betting sites recorded 2.12 billion visits in Brazil, with 173 million unique devices accessing these platforms, reaching around 80% of the population with some level of contact with betting sites.
Most visits occur directly, with users typing the URL, while a relevant portion comes from banners and pop-ups during browsing.
Increased User Engagement and Time Spent
Data shows that the average time spent on betting sites in May was 14 minutes per visit, up from 13 minutes in February, with 77% of users engaging beyond the home page.
Importance of Betting Apps in Official Stores
The presence of betting apps in official stores helps curb the illegal market, ensuring access to certified, audited platforms with responsible gaming tools and direct notifications to users.
To remain on the stores, these apps must meet requirements such as:
-
Access restricted to users over 18;
-
Operation limited to Brazilian territory;
-
“Adults only” rating;
-
Mandatory responsible gaming guidelines.
Google explained that the policy “aligns with Brazil’s new fixed-odds betting regulations to ensure a safe and trustworthy app ecosystem.”
Currently, Brazil has around 160 authorized betting brands, and with the release of these apps, their reach among Brazilians is expected to continue growing.
