Americas Cardroom to Enable ScreenShield for All Players on 4 November

Costa Rica.- 20 October 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Americas Cardroom, the international online poker platform operating within Winning Poker Network (WPN), has announced that its ScreenShield security feature will be automatically enabled for all network players from 4 November 2026.

The initiative aims to strengthen table protection against certain screen-capture and screen-sharing methods that could potentially expose confidential information.

Until now, ScreenShield had been used as a precautionary measure for selected users or activated following individual requests.

How Does ScreenShield Work?

The technology prevents protected poker-table content from appearing through the screen-capture and sharing methods covered by the system.

Players will continue to see their cards and participate normally, with no changes to the underlying gameplay.

Its main features include:

  • Automatic activation across Winning Poker Network.
  • Protection against supported screen-capture methods.
  • Individual controls within the poker client.
  • An option to disable the feature for legitimate streaming and recording.

Players who broadcast sessions, produce educational content or work with coaches will be able to turn ScreenShield off through the client settings.

More Than Two Million Poker Hands Reviewed

The network-wide implementation follows concerns about remote-access software detected on certain players’ devices.

WPN’s Game Integrity team reviewed more than two million hands involving players whose computers had MeshAgent detected.

According to the company, the investigation found no evidence that the reviewed players had used information about opponents’ concealed cards.

Approximately 200,000 of those hands involved Paul Gregg, whose name had emerged during discussions surrounding the security concerns.

WPN stated that its review found no evidence that Gregg could view opponents’ hole cards or used such information while playing.

Nevertheless, the network decided to close his account after considering additional information obtained during its investigation. WPN emphasised that the account decision was separate from its gameplay findings.

Additional Game Integrity Measures

Winning Poker Network is also considering a broader policy that could restrict the use of third-party software alongside its poker client.

No final decision has been made regarding this potential restriction.

The company aims to balance stronger game integrity safeguards with legitimate activities involving coaching, analysis and content creation.

WPN has also shared information about ScreenShield’s implementation with other online poker operators, allowing them to assess whether similar technology could improve player protection.

Next Steps and Impact

From 4 November, ScreenShield will be enabled by default, eliminating the need for players to request activation.

The technology provides an additional layer of protection, although it cannot eliminate every potential cybersecurity threat.

For the online poker industry, the initiative highlights the growing importance of preventive security measures designed to protect confidential game information and strengthen confidence in digital competitions.
